Actress Samantha Morton has admitted during an interview with Weekend magazine that she was “charged with attempted murder and convicted of threats to kill” when she was just 14.
31-year-old Samantha also revealed that the incident occurred when she was in a children’s home in Nottingham and threatened to kill a girl who’d bullied her.
Samantha has recently directed her first film, The Unloved, which is based on her rough childhood and her experiences of growing up in social services care homes.
Samantha was sent to a care home at when she was three years old after her parents split up and by the age of 16, she was “battling a drug problem.”
The award-winning actress also told The Guardian that she “picked up a knife and threatened to kill an older girl” during a riot at the children’s home.

It’s been announced today that legendary actress Beatrice Arthur, star of The Golden Girls, has died at the age 86 the Associated Press reports.
A family spokesman told AP that Bea had cancer and had “died peacefully” at her home in Los Angeles.
Bea’s best-known roles were in popular sitcoms such as Maude and, as mentioned, The Golden Girls, Bea achieved five Emmy nominations and one win.
In a 2005 interview with EW, Bea recalled how she “flipped” when she first read the script for The Golden Girls… “After all of the crap I’d been sent, here was something so bright and adult and fabulously funny” she said… Read more & comment »

Sky News is reporting that a “talented young actress who starred in a long-running TV series has been found hanged two days after the show was axed.”
Apparently the body of Stephanie Parker, 22, was found on “open ground” near Pontypridd on Saturday morning, South Wales Police said.
Stephanie was a regular cast member of the BBC Wales drama, ‘Belonging’ and had played the role of Stacey Weaver since she was 15 years old.
It appears that she hung herself after the final episode of the award-winning series was broadcast last Thursday. The drama show was brought to an end to make way for newer shows… Read more & comment »

Ex-EastEnders Natalie Cassidy has revealed in The Sun that at one time, she was so desperate to lose weight, she took laxatives.
Natalie dropped to a size 8 after leaving EastEnders but has become a more curvy size 14 within the last year.
The 25-year-old told the paper: “There were nights I would go out for dinner and then I’d go home and take laxatives because I didn’t want the food inside me.”
However, when she was photographed on a beach in Portugal in March last year, Natalie realised she’d “gone too far”.
She said: “I looked too thin. I can honestly say I wasn’t happy then.”

Twitter addict Demi Moore has apparently helped an allegedly suicidal woman by calling Californian police to go to her aid.
A message on the site from a user named SandieGuy read: “Getting a knife, a big one that is sharp. Going to cut my arm down the whole arm so it doesn’t waste time.”
Moore responded by saying: “Hope you are joking.”

Corrie star Kym Marsh and ex-EastEnders actor Jack Ryder were granted a “quickie” divorce after Kym admitted “committing adultery”.
Their divorce was allowed by the High Court in London after Kym admitted having a relationship with Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas while she was still married to Jack.
Kym and Jack – who’s five years younger than her – were married in August 2002 but split in March last year.

Ex-EastEnders actresss Natalie Cassidy – who lost two and a half stone for her best-selling fitness DVD – seems to be back to her former weight and shape. However, despite having piled on the pounds again, Natalie doesn’t seem overly bothered by it, and good for her I say.

Coronation Street star Bill Roache is said to be “gently easing” himself back into work after the sudden death of his wife Sara last month.
Earlier this week, he filmed what was described by Hello magazine as “a touching farewell scene between his character Ken Barlow and an attractive divorcee he’s grown close to” who’s played by actress Stephanie Beacham.
