It’s been announced today that legendary actress Beatrice Arthur, star of The Golden Girls, has died at the age 86 the Associated Press reports.

A family spokesman told AP that Bea had cancer and had “died peacefully” at her home in Los Angeles.

Bea’s best-known roles were in popular sitcoms such as Maude and, as mentioned, The Golden Girls, Bea achieved five Emmy nominations and one win.

Jade Goody’s sons are once again about to be told a loved one has died; this time, it’s that Jeff Brazier’s grandfather has committed suicide after being diagnosed with cancer.

Jeff is apparently preparing to break to the news to Bobby and Freddy sometime this week.

Jeff’s grandfather Jack Smith, 81, killed himself on April 1st after he was diagnosed with throat and mouth cancer but relatives decided to “spare the boys more trauma” as they mourn the death of their mother, who died on March 22nd.

Cancer stricken actress Farrah Fawcett is now out of hospital and is feeling well enough to throw a party for her long-term partner Ryan O’Neal’s 68th birthday on Monday.

A friend of Farrah’s – Alana Stewart – told People magazine, “There will be cake and champagne… Ryan has really been there for Farrah in such a wonderful way.”

Alana also denied reports that Farrah’s weight is down to only 86 lbs. Her son, Redmond O’Neal, told a judge last week – during a hearing about drug charges – that his mother “weighs about 86 pounds…” Read more & comment »

It’s been revealed that tragic Jade Goody begged her mother to smother her with a pillow as she struggled to cope in her last days.

The 27-year-old was being nursed at home by her husband Jack Tweed and mother Jackiey Budden who’s told OK magazine how hard it was to see her daughter slipping away.

Jackiey Budden described it as “heartbreaking” adding, “We watched her slowly disintegrate. It was more heartbreaking than just seeing someone die”

“She wasn’t in any pain, but it’s horrible for the people around it.”

According to The People, grieving Jack Tweed “has been given the blessing to remarry one day by Jade Goody’s mother”.

Jade’s grieving mother Jackiey Budden told the magazine that Jack was too young to “spend the rest of his life by himself” adding, ‘”I know Jack will get another girlfriend. I know he will get married [again] and I really hope he does.

‘He is only 21 and has his whole life ahead of him so I can’t expect him to be single forever, and neither can anyone else.’

The bishop who married Jade Goody and Jack Tweed has leapt to Jade’s defence after Sir Michael Parkinson claimed that Jade represented “all that is wretched about Britain”.

Cancer stricken actress Farrah Fawcett has been told that her cancer has spread to her liver.

The former Charlie’s Angels star checked into hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Her doctor Lawrence Piro explained she was being treated for “complications” arising from an undisclosed medical procedure which apparently caused abdominal bleeding and a hematoma.

Actress Farrah Fawcett has been admitted to hospital which is the latest setback in her battle against cancer.

Craig Nevius, a producer who’s worked with the actress and is acting as her spokeman said that the 62-year-old star was “hospitalised because of a blood clot that was likely to be a side effect of treatment she recently had in Germany”.

“She’s doing fantastic” he said, adding, “She’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
