Pop star Rihanna’s father has blasted Chris Brown after the singer appeared in court to deny threatening and assaulting Rihanna. He was angered that Brown wouldn’t admit to harming his daughter.

Her father Ronald Fenty angrily told UsWeekly.com: “So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then?

The now infamous alleged assault on Rihanna by Chris Brown was reportedly over his alleged affair with his 40 year old manager, Tina Davis. according to The Sun.

The row was apparently sparked by a three-page long text from Tina to Chris which a source told a US magazine was about the pair arranging to “hook up”

Yahoo are reporting that rapper Chris Brown was formally charged with felony assault and making criminal threats in court on Thursday.

He could face up to four years in prison if convicted, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

The Yahoo report says that Prosecutors told the court that Brown attacked Rihanna, 21, late on the night before the February 8th Grammy Awards in LA.

Subsequently, both singers pulled out of their scheduled performances and photos of Rihanna’s bruised and battered face were later leaked to the press and appeared on the Internet.

Rihanna – whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty – was identified in court as “Robyn F.” She hadn’t previously been formally identified by police as the victim in the assault.

The formal charges accused Brown of assaulting Rihanna “by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury” as well as threatening to commit a crime “which would result in death and great bodily injury.”

Rihanna has shocked her family, friends and fans by telling police that she does NOT want to press charges against Chris Brown who allegedly battered her.

Police report that the 21-year-old Disturbia singer is “refusing to help” with their investigation after she and Chris got back together following the incident.

However, according to The Sun, detectives may still prosecute Brown, 19, and will reportedly “hand their file to the Los Angeles County District Attorney later this week”.

A police source is quoted in the paper as saying: “Rihanna says she doesn’t want to testify against him. She has had a change of heart and doesn’t want the case to proceed.

“However detectives are still building their case based on what she originally told them and accounts of witnesses.

People.com is reporting that pop star Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together depsite the fact that it’s been just three weeks since Chris allegedly assaulted her.

The website states that 19-year-old Chris and 21-year-old Rihanna “are currently spending time together at one of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’s homes.”

Rihanna put on a brave face in her first public appearance since her now ex-boyfriend Chris Brown allegedly attacked her nearly two weeks ago.

The pop star was photographed donning a pair of sunglasses while driving in Los Angeles on Thursday night, the same night that a website published a picture that showed visible bruises that weren’t hidden by heavy make-up…

Various media reports suggest that Rihanna flew to Barbados to escape the media circus around the alleged attack and also to celebrate her 21st birthday on Friday.

Rihanna also released the first statement since the alleged attack via her spokesperson on Friday: “She (Rihanna) wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”

Mel B, former Spice Girls singer and now fitness trainer/jewellery designer has sent a message of support to her friend Rihanna who was allegedly attacked by her boyfriend Chris Brown last week.

Mel, who struck up a friendship with Rihann last year – said she was shocked to hear about that had seemingly happened.

Mel told Closer magazine: “I was shocked when the news broke last week of my pal Rihanna allegedly being beaten up by Chris Brown.

“I heard Kanye West on the radio talking about it and I sent Rihanna a text to check if she was OK. I got to know her when she was working in the studio next door to me last year.”

Chris Brown’s father, Clinton Brown, has told People magazine that his son is sorry for what happened, referring of course to the alleged attack on Rihanna shortly before the Grammy award ceremony.

“He’s reflecting on this situation,” he told the magazine. “He’s very remorseful. He’s very concerned about the situation and he wants to make sure that (Rihanna’s) okay.”
